| Jane's Farewell
I've been so busy lately that I can't even find time to blog though I have lots of things to blog about.
Jane has tendered her resignation and left URC for almost 2 weeks now for a better future and a better company. It was indeed a very sad occassion for me as she was like a big sister to me in everything - work, relationships, friendships, gossips... you name it! After Ivan the Singaporean left, life was so empty at work as I lost a big brother. Now, I lost a big sister. No words could ever express how sad and how empty life can be, especially at work.
Since she is the 'Tai Ka Cheh' at URC's Marketing Department (for the non-Managers only), we all love her too much to let her go just like that. We have prepared the perfect farewell for her!
We slim-wrapped her computer, her mouse and mouse pad inspired by Chanttal and a 'U'RE FIRED' inspired by me!
We slim-wrapped her chair, her Zara shawl (which I've been eyeing since forever) and her Tara Panda
We also slim-wrapped her keyboard and her 'family' (Octopus is her hubby, Big Tortoise is her while Little Tortoise is Tong Tong)
Tada!
Believe me, she screamt on top of her lungs when she saw her cubicle when she came to work! Buahahaha!
Since it was her last day of work, our Boss dated her for a farewell lunch in which those remaining subordinates still taking salary from URC are not allowed to join. Haha even better as we have a better plan for Jane when she comes back from lunch!
I have custom made a certificate for her with everyone's signature (Marketing Department + Eric)
Since she likes branded stuff as much as I do, we incorporate her favorite brands with Jack n Jill Potato Chips in the certificate too.
Not only that, we made a trophy for her too ok!
All the great ideas above came from ME, I think I really have good potential in the advertising industry, don't you think?
Since Jane was not back from lunch yet, we turned the department upside down and created a mini stage for her for her speech later when all the managers were not in.
When you have a bunch of people with 2 cameras and 'Watak Utama' not in yet, what do you do?

Then she gave a very long speech for each and everyone of us, then it all got really emotional which made her cried. My eyes teared too during the speech.
Since I was forbidden to pose emotional pictures, I'll flashback a little on the time we were together.

| In Loving Memory
After two weeks of not updating my blog, I shall start my entry with a sad news.
On Wednesday, I was rudely waken up with the news that one of the best neighbours around, Uncle Peter Hastie passed away due to a heart attack while playing badminton the night before. He left behind his wife, Auntie Frances, sons Scott (8 years old) and Little Ian (6 years old).

One thing for sure, I would miss seeing him at his garden watering his plants, walking his dog around the neighborhood, cycling with his family and playing badminton with his two precious sons. Life indeed will never be the same for his family as Auntie Frances has lost a loving husband while Scott and Ian will never feel the love of their Papa anymore.
I attended the wake and also the funeral service last week to pay my last respects for Uncle Peter. All I noticed was that he looked so peaceful as if he was deep in sleep while Auntie Frances looked really frail and without a smile, for the first time. The funeral service was held on Sunday afternoon and approximately close to 80 people turned up. During the final moments of the funeral service, everyone got really emotional when the casket was closed. My heart wrenched when I saw his two sons, Auntie Frances and Uncle Peter's mother cried when they pushed the casket into the hearse. I, too couldn't hold back my tears.

| Back From PD
I wrote a very nice blog entry before my trip to PD but Xanga decided to 'hang' after I finish it and before I could press the word 'Save & Publish'

Anyway, yes, I'm back from Port Dickson this afternoon for some 'Management Alignment Training' organized by my company for all Sales Managers and Marketing Department. It was boring!
Imagine sitting in the conference room from 2pm - 7pm on first day, 8.30am till 7pm on second day and 8.30am till 1pm on the third day!!
Goodness! I wonder how did I even survive the entire training!! We did not even have time to explore the hotel.... We stayed at THE LEGEND WATER CHALETS..... but too bad the only thing we managed to utilise the whole trip was the conference room, the sauna for 30 mins on 2nd night and OUR ROOM just to sleep for a few hours.
I wish to blog with pictures but my PC just came back from Mr. IT Doctor and he reformatted the whole thing!!! Even more reasons to get pissed now! I shall blog when that guy comes over to fix the thing properly for me again!

| When Money Isn't Enough
I had such a good weekend!
Quan called me out for Red Cliff at Pavillion on Saturday after finding out both of us have yet to watch that movie. It's funny how both of us who did not have much conversation ended up exchanging numbers and msn and landed up being movie and shopping kaki!
Haiyo that guy ah, first time go out with him already gave me a heart attack on my Waja! Nope, he did not bang my car but...... errr... close to that..... hehe
On Sunday, Vince picked me up with his white carriage for lunch at Pyramid @ Michaelangelo's Italian Kitchen before proceeding for a Chinese movie 'La Lingerie' with the rest of the gang. After that, I went home with Lian King to catch the closing ceremony of Beijing 2008.

The person knew I am searching for a nice shawl to use in the office (besides the beige colored cashmere shawl) but still could not get a nice one after a couple of weeks. So sweet!
Sometimes, small thoughtful things like that can really brighten someone's day!
I'm such a HAPPY GIRL right now I can actually forget all the sad things instantly! Hehe..... This weekend, I learnt something. I have actually neglected a lot of my friends throughout the few months. Perhaps it's time to un-focus on the people/things that I've been focusing too much on and try to notice and give more attention to the others.
Next weekend, journey to IPOH with FUN PEOPLE!
